behind
the scenes

As we’re currently missing our travels right now, we wanted to share some behind-the-scenes from our adventures in Colombia shooting the eclectic Momposina campaign. They might just inspire your own travels when the time is right...

Crafted using colourful gemstones, beading and bold design, this is the ultimate sunshine collection - whether it’s for now or for later. Bring a bit of sunshine to your style and discover our campaign highlights from the trip: Colombia is calling.

white hot

Picture scorching 40-degree heat, sweat dripping down our backs, and a cold flannel draped over Kate, our Brand Manager, while shooting. Not the most comfortable situation for a pale Scottish girl, but at least we got the shot.

The gold Baya hoops and Zenyu Fan necklace were inspired by Colombian artefacts and add an artistic edge to your look.

My experience of Colombia and the inspiration I found there is at the heart of the Momposina collection. There is an energy about Colombia that is hard to describe. My team and I have created Momposina to try and capture and symbolise this feeling, and to celebrate the rich heritage and ancient craftsmanship of the country.

colourful colombia

This was one of our favourite locations from our time in Mompox, for all its rich colours and textures. We were shooting in the middle of the town, and what seemed like the majority of its 30,000 residents popped along to say hello to us - did you know someone from Mompox is called a Momposina?

The Rainbow Moonstone choker and gold Calima ring are made for each other - team yours with the most colourful dress you own and consider the outfit nailed.

Marisa and I have endless tales of this trip, which we often reflect on and laugh about. We met some incredible people and are so grateful to those in Mompox and beyond for welcoming us into their homes. Creating Momposina with them and celebrating their exuberant country, while giving back, was a real cornerstone of Missoma’s history.

the magdalena

Mompox sits on the Magdalena River, which was once an important trade route, and still has the long canal boats that are now used for delivering produce like pineapples and bananas. These longboats not only served us in getting to and from locations, but we also decided to shoot one of our favourite looks on them.

Style it like a model and pair the Amazonite Lena Charm choker with the Rainbow Moonstone Lena Charm necklace for some contrast. This look? Plain sailing.

Other highlights from the trip include partnering with the country’s culture and tourism brand, Marca Pais, to working with the Colombian Embassy in London, and collaborating with an artisan workshop to create a limited edition earring that supported a filigree jewellery school in Mompox.
